Knowledge about some elements and practices in sexual and reproductive health in women of Manzanillo

Introduction: in the historical event of humanity, the problem of the education of the sexuality of man from a global perspective has been the concern of many researchers. In Cuba, at present, the essential knowledge for a correct education in sexual and reproductive aspects is not enough, so a study was carried out with the objective of describing knowledge about some elements and practices in sexual and reproductive health in some women of Manzanillo.
Methodological Design: a descriptive study was carried out from September to December 2017. The universe consisted of all the patients who attended obstetric consultation demands at the offices of the polyclinics I and II of Manzanillo from September to December 2017. a random probabilistic sampling selecting 137 patients.
Results: criteria were collected and assessed on the results produced by alcohol intake, smoking and drug intake during pregnancy, optimal intergenic period according to the type of birth, the optimal age to have children, ages considered the risk for the pregnant woman and / or the baby, the most frequent diseases that a pregnant woman may suffer and other aspects known to women. The results in several of these aspects were not satisfactory, and were related to the level of education.
Conclusions: in spite of all the health promotion programs and actions, the health culture regarding sexual and reproductive health is deficient.
