Hemolacria from post-traumatic stress disorder. About a case

A 16-year-old obese, mixed-race female patient is presented with a haemolacria that persisted for a month accompanied by ocular itching and occipital headache of a pulsatile nature without irradiation 48 hours before her admission. In the exploration, positive social-environmental antecedents were found, such as dissociation from the school environment and difficulties in communication. The complementary tests performed to diagnose some coagulation disorder, local or systemic noncommunicable disease, resulted in normal. It is concluded that the patient suffers from Gardner-Diamond syndrome and/or post-traumatic stress disorder. This disease is a rare phenomenon that commonly presents a benign cure, but can be fatal. The patient presented a socio-environmental history and positive psychometric tests that could be triggering factors. Its treatment can be simple but it is important that the medical community is aware and informed of the measures and protocols that must be followed for the proper management of the patient.Downloads
