Abstract

Child abuse has become a daily practice in homes to become a public health problem worldwide. It is all aggression caused to minors by their parents, relatives or others to punish or harm them, including the neglect of their basic needs for food, home, clothing, health, protection and care. Therefore, knowledge on this subjects facilitates the planning of intervention and prevention strategies. For this reason, a bibliographic review was carried out with the objective of describing the types of child abuse according to the favoring factors and the consequences, 15 bibliographical references were used and it was concluded that the de most significant forms of abuse are physical, psychological, sexual abuse, negligence and social abuse, where the family was the most significant factor, with respectful treatment of de victim by the health professional.
