Abstract

Introduction: non-Hodgkin lymphomas form a heterogeneous group of lymphoid neoplasms. These generally originate in the lymph nodes, although they can appear outside the lymph nodes, how central nervous system lymphoma. The 5% of malignant tumors, especially solid ones, cause spinal neurological complications and in two thirds of cases, they affect only one vertebral level. Case report: a 59-year-old female patient, with a history of arterial hypertension with regular treatment, comes for cramps. Paresthesias are found in the lower limbs, other symptoms and neurological signs progressively appear with deterioration of motor function, for which soft tissue ultrasound, computerized axial tomography, study of cerebrospinal fluid, cervical ganglion biopsy with Immunohistochemistry is performed. Indolent non-Hodgkin lymphoma of follicular B cells type 1 in stage 4 with hemoperipheral expression and myeloradicular involvement was diagnosed. Treatment with chemotherapy is started and improvement of symptoms and control of the disease is achieved. Conclusions: the timely diagnosis of these lymphomas, using clinical, laboratory, imaging and histopathological elements, allows therapeutic approach in the early stages to obtain better results, despite being a neoplasm with a poor overall prognosis.
