The universe consisted of 60 adolescents aged 15-19 years, a simple random sampling was carried out, resulting in a sample of 55 females. The study period covered the months of May to November 2020. The following variables were analyzed: induced abortion, marital status, previous abortions, previous children, and a number of cohabitants.
Results: 81.8% of the adolescents experienced induced abortion. Unmarried adolescents (80 %) and adolescents with previous abortions (71.1 %) predominated. A total of 73.3% of abortions occurred in adolescents with previous children. According to the number of members in the family cohabitation 82, 2 % cohabited with 5 or more persons.
Conclusions: The approach of some demographic determinants, reproductive and socioeconomic antecedents in the characteristics of abortion in adolescents allow us to better understand the variability of abortion in these at-risk ages.
